What is lasik surgery?

Answered By Lanny Frankel, Editor

LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis. This is a refractive surgical procedure which is performed by (MD/DO) Ophthalmologist. This surgical procedure is done in order to correct the vision of the patient, thus lessening his /her dependency to any corrective devices such as contact lenses and eye glasses.
